My Story
I have always been a creative individual who enjoys engaging and connecting with others. I am fueled by my passion for storytelling and content creation. I enjoy planning events, managing media, and creating various types of content. My education gave me a strong foundation and the knowledge needed to enter the marketing and public relations field. I most recently worked as an events coordinator for a media company, Golden Peak Media, and am a part-time student in the Rutgers MCM program. I am also a grader of undergraduate communication courses and enjoy assisting students in achieving their educational and career goals. I am working toward further developing my technical skills in media production including photography, videography, and editing.
My journey connecting with nature began quite recently in November of 2022 when I went on a trip to Vermont. I was experiencing hardship and wanted to see if getting out of my urban environment and into the mountains would help. This experience changed me so much, as I had never been surrounded by so much high-quality nature before. I have always been appreciative of nature, but never truly connected with it. As someone who has been diagnosed with anxiety and depression in adolescence and adulthood as a result of traumatic events, I have been in pursuit of improving my mental health. After having experienced how positively impactful nature was on my mind and well-being, I became inspired to research it further and digitally document the places I have been exploring for this portfolio. Connecting with nature has helped me connect with myself -my thoughts and emotions, on a higher level. It has also assisted with advancing my creative side, as I have felt deeply artistically inspired by nature. Being an individual who likes to create written and digital content, I also enjoy painting and making artwork as a therapeutic hobby. Immersing myself in nature has allowed me to tap deeper into my creativity each and every time I pick up a paintbrush or design a digital graphic.
